Legislative Seminar 2009

Plans are underway for the 2009 League of Women Voters of Florida Legislative Seminar, which will be held at the Doubletree Hotel in Tallahassee from Sunday, March 22, to Tuesday, March 24.

The LWVF Legislative Seminar provides an opportunity for League members to make personal contact with government leaders. Effective grassroots lobbying begins by building a relationship with elected officials. Leaguers can influence members of our Legislature by talking to them face-to-face in Tallahassee. All League members are encouraged to attend the receptions, workshops and meeting with legislators. If you would like to attend seminar as a voice for your community and the League of Women Voters of Florida, contact Mary Blackwell (621-4088) or Stan Berg (651-2619).

Legislative Seminar is a three day event in Tallahassee, FL that includes:

  • A dinner, hosted by LWV of Tallahassee - meet our new LWVF Lobbyist Heather Walker
  • Overview & Update with Legislative Leaders - Capitol Cabinet Room
  • State House Lobbying of your local delegation and elected officials from across the state
  • Breakfast at the historic Governors Club with Florida Secretary of State Kurt S. Browning
  • Banquet at the DoubleTree Hotel, speaker to be announced
  • Informative and eventful workshops on '09 Legislative Priorities

To prepare for your grassroots lobbying at the seminar, be sure to study the Florida League's Interview Package.
