The League welcomes your support!

League of Women Voters of Okaloosa County General Fund

Your local League is small but active in the community. We publish our Voter newsletter every other month to keep local residents apprised of issues affecting our County. From September through May our general monthly meetings -- which are free of charge and open to the public -- focus on important topics such as offshore drilling, ballot initiatives and updates to the Baker Act. Because this is a presidential election year, in March we sponsored a forum featuring local leaders of the Democratic, Republican and Libertarian Parties. We also organize an annual "State of the County" report each May to enable citizens to hear directly from County officials. In addition, League partners with WSRE to support "rallies" that showcase candidates for local office. Our goal is to educate our citizens, encourage participation in the democratic process, and help maintain the quality of life on the Emerald Coast.

League of Women Voters Florida Education Fund

Free and open access to information is as important today as it ever was. Educating people about the issues of the day, the political process, and how to make informed choices is a job the League takes very seriously. The Florida League is recognized as a highly effective force for democracy.
