Welcome to the League:

and informed participation of citizens in their government!

Test your knowledge
How much do you know about the midterm elections?
The 2014 election was one of the most expensive in American history since the Citizens United decision allowed groups to pump in hundreds of millions of dollars with little or no transparency. It was also the first federal election to show the full effect of the Supreme Court’s decision to gut key provisions of the Voting Rights Act. How much do you know about how the changes in these laws affected the election? Find out here.
Luminaria Run 2015
4th Annual Shelter House Luminaria Run:
This run will take place on Saturday, December 6 at 4:30pm. The 5k/9k run begins at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. (14059 Emerald Coast Pkwy, Destin). The course for this twilight run will be lit with more than 2,000 luminaria bags, representing how Shelter House and our partners light the way to a safer place for victims of domestic and sexual violence in our community. Donate or register to run here.
Homeless Shelter
Continuum of Care needs your help!
The annual census for area homeless is scheduled for 23 Jan 2015, and volunteers will be needed to get out in the community and make the head count. The Continuum of Care will provide training and logistical support for the effort.
Stay tuned to find out how you can help and where to volunteer.
